Deva Fest returns for 2020 on the weekend of 14th – 16th August and they have announced some heavyweight headliners and great value Super Early Bird tickets!

Cheshire’s Family Friendly Music, Food and Lifestyle Extravaganza takes place at the Chester Lakes complex in Dodleston just three miles from Chester City Centre with the organisers are looking to build on the success of their 2019 event.

Returning to headline the Old School Dance Anthems Day on Friday after their triumphant 2019 performance will be Symphonic Ibiza. Fusing the thrill of beats from Cream DJ Andy Joyce with a full symphony orchestra conducted by Steve Etherington Symphonic Ibiza reimagine hands-in-the-air dance classics from the White Isle. Deva Fest Managing Partner Phil Marston commented “People are still talking about just how good Symphonic Ibiza were last year and when I was stood backstage watching the crowd in our Big Top jumping to tunes from the likes of Fatboy Slim and Swedish House Mafia I knew we had to have them back. Many of our guests asked for the Old School Day to move to the opening day of the festival so they can really party, so we’ve listened and made the event a full three days and nights for the first time!”

Saturday is Pirate Day and will feature parades and street performers with prizes on offer for the festival goer in the best Jack or Jackie Sparrow outfit. Chester’s Winter Watch Parade team will again be providing the performers. Headlining Pirate Day will be Indie princess, Ibiza livener and general all-round pop superstar double platinum selling Sophie Ellis-Bextor who will reprising classics from her career such as Groovejet and Murder on the Dancefloor. Izzy Grey, Managing Director of headline co-sponsors, We Love Good Times said “We can’t wait for the colour and magic of Pirate Day! The Winter Watch Parade team always come up with something amazing, and then to get Sophie Ellis Bextor and her band performing is a real coup!”

Closing Deva Fest on Sunday 16th is a headline set from everyone’s favourite festival band four times Brit Award winning Scouting for Girls. Fresh from a sell-out UK tour the band will be playing hits from their impressive back catalogue including sing-along anthems such as “She’s so Lovely” and “This Ain’t a Love Song” as well as new material from their recent top 40 “The Trouble with Boys” album. Stephen Wundke, one of the festival organisers and Managing Director of co-headline sponsors Taste Cheshire said “When we asked the people who went last year who they wanted to see play in 2020 on our social media Scouting for Girls’ name came up time and again, so we were delighted when they agreed to play for us this year.”

The Deva Fest organisers like to do things a little bit differently, so there is a fairground on the festival field which is free to use, the main stage will again be in a huge big top, so there is no need to worry about the weather and there will be plenty to do for families.

New for 2020 is an expanded free-to-use shuttle bus network which will bring you to and take you home from Chester City Centre, Chester Railway Station, Hoole, Handbridge, Westminster Park, Ellesmere Port, Wrexham, Gresford and Rossett (see the Deva Fest website for route details). For those who want to drive there is plenty of free parking right outside the festival gates.

What set Deva Fest apart from many festivals was the quality of its food offering and Taste Cheshire will again be hand selecting street food vendors to make sure that locally produced tasty offerings and treats are on offer.

New for 2020 is a partnership with renowned Chester bars Liquor and Co and Craft & Company. Their parent company iKO Projects has signed an exclusive agreement to bring their bars to the Deva Fest festival field, so a range of top-quality cocktails, craft beers, spirits and soft drinks will be available. Ian Gordon, owner of iKO Projects said “We were impressed by what the Deva Fest team were trying to achieve with the quality of this event and we are absolutely delighted that we are going to be able to bring festival goers a taste of what Liquor and Co and Craft & Company customers experience week in week out”.
